30th November: Churchill and Sassy's 18:52 festive dinner

The start of great moments

Sassy and Churchill’s are warming up the festive season with a special evening at one of London’s favorite Portuguese restaurants, Bar Douro London Bridge.

Alexander Darley from Sassy Cider and Jamie Churchill will be hosting a unique dinner, pairing authentic Portuguese dishes alongside a range of premium cider and port. 

Alexander joined SASSY as Head of Sales in 2020 to grow their UK market and beyond. Having worked at Sipsmith for a number of years, working with the premium on-trade to National accounts, SASSY seemed the perfect brand to join, modernising and premiumising their category.

Jamie represents the 6th Generation of his family to make port in the Douro Valley and is passionate about changing outdated port perceptions. He worked the iconic 2011 vintage, has had a past life as a cellar rat at Berry Bros and Rudd, spread the word for Jameson Irish Whiskey across South America and is currently the Churchill's Brand Manager.

This dinner marks the friendship between the houses and historic date - 1852 - they share. You will taste and learn from two producers that are changing the faces of cider and Port.

To kick-start the evening, we will be welcoming guests at Bar Douro from 18:52 to enjoy Sassy & Churchill’s signature 1852 cocktail. An auspicious year, marking the birthdate of Chateau de Sassy and Churchill’s “Quinta da Gricha” winery.

Fast-forwarding 170 years, Alexander and Jamie look forward to sharing insight on their respective categories and tasting award winning cider and port with you all.
